Nisha has been involved in the education sector for close to 2 decades in India and the US. She serves as the Executive Director of ArtSparks Foundation, a Bangalore-based educational nonprofit that supports the development of 21st century learning and life skills in children from underserved communities (both urban and rural) through the medium of visual art and design. ArtSparks also supports the professional development of teachers, educators and education administrators, encouraging them to reflect on teaching practices and to explore new ways to enrich student learning.
Prior to education, Nisha worked in the field of Marketing Communications Design. She is the recipient of numerous design awards for her work from diverse clients such as the Smithsonian Institution, Honda, NASA, and more. Nisha holds a BFA in Graphic Design from Savannah College of Art & Design, an MA in Art Education from Teachers College, Columbia University with a focus on Peace and Human Rights education, and she is currently conducting doctoral research as part of a fully-funded fellowship from Teachers College, Columbia University.
