We’re very happy to announce the launch of the Indian Women Social Entrepreneurs Network (IWSEN) program, in collaboration with ANDE India, and with funding support from the U.S. Consulate General in Chennai.
We put out a call for applications for the program earlier this year and received an overwhelming response of 215+ applications for the program. After an intensive review process, we selected the 40 Founding Members of the network and ran our first virtual session with them in the last week of June.
It’s a very diverse and interesting group of entrepreneurs: age range is 25-70, and they come from all over India, representing close to 20 cities across the country including Delhi, Bhuwaneshwar, Mathura, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Mumbai, Nagpur, Bangalore, Kollam and Chennai to name a few.
It was an absolute pleasure to watch them get to know each other a little more, discuss their challenges and already extend support to each other wherever possible. Over the course of the rest of the year, the Amani Institute Team in India will be working closely with each one of them, to support them with skills, tools, frameworks and expert guidance around topics which are immediately relevant for the current situation, and which will also support the future readiness of the entrepreneurs & their organizations.
