Gayatri heads Corporate Social Responsibility for Godrej Industries and Associate Companies. She drives the Group’s sustainability agenda that works towards skilling 1 million young people to help them become more employable, and towards protecting health and well-being of 30 million people.
Gayatri has 15 years of experience working in the development sector across a range of roles and organisations including academia, the private sector and non-profits.
Prior to Godrej, Gayatri was part of the Corporate Sustainability team at HSBC India where she played a key role in driving the bank’s portfolio of community investment programmes across the three strategic pillars of HSBC’s global Corporate Sustainability strategy - future skills, sustainable networks and entrepreneurship, and sustainable finance. She has also worked at Dasra, and led their advisory research practice and business development teams.
Gayatri has consulted for several multi-national institutions, leading Indian companies and Harvard University’s South Asia Institute. She holds a Master’s degree in Development Studies from University of Westminster, London.
In her free time Gayatri enjoys painting, reading and travelling. She mentors a young college student who is a first generation learner in her family, and also sits on the board of Bansuri Foundation, a family philanthropic initiative.
